First Meeting Wednesday September 1st
Site Council and Parent Information Exchange Meeting
Written by
Our first meeting is next Wednesday beginning at 5:30 p.m. in the Career Center. There are only 3 agenda items: 1) Introduce members; 2) duties and responsibilities of Site Council and 3) Review of Single Plan for Student Achievement goals and student performance.
The Parent Information Exchange is open to anyone in the GBHS community who wants to know more about the school. Formerly called the C4 meeting, the group acts as an informal forum for parents to learn about school curriculum and community and acts as an advisory group on subjects from curriculum, school programs, budgets and health & safety issues. The meeting is facilitated and is attended by parents, teachers, school administrators and students. Please come by the Learning Center on the first Wednesday of the month from 7-9pm to get new insights on GBHS.
Site council meetings are open to all parents.

Free Pertussis Vaccine Clinics
Written by Erik House
This is a unique opportunity. You may be reading about the fact that pertussis (whooping cough) is making a comeback in our community. This is a chance for a free immunization for yourself or your child. We received the pertussis vaccine as young children (DPT) and were told this immunity would last our lifetime - turns out this is not the case. High school students are currently presenting with this disease – GBHS had a case last year. This immunization will boost protection against tetanus as well.
Placer County Community Health will be providing Free Pertussis (Tdap) clinics for the community .
