GBHS has been officially authorized to become a World IB School! After over three years of research, training and planning, we are now able to offer IB courses starting Fall 2008. Many thanks to all the teachers and parents who helped make this exciting academic adventure a reality!
ALL GBHS students may take IB courses may do so if they have the prerequisites and do NOT need to be an IB Diploma Candidate. IB Diploma Candidates must work toward the full IB Diploma. There is no part-time or halfway IB program at this time.
***If you are currently enrolled as an IB Diploma candidate, and you decide you cannot continue the full IB Diploma Program, please submit a drop form to me. Disenrollment forms are available on the school website, in the front office, or from me in room 610. You can still enroll in as many IB courses as you want, even if you are not a Diploma Candidate.

Their IB progress will be assessed yearly. Transfer students who do not demonstrate minimal IB involvement may be returned to their home school at the end of the academic year. Visit this IB website often for news about this or any future meetings for parents or students. These meetings will also be advertised in our newsletters and daily bulletins at GBHS.
To contact the IB Coordinator, email Sharry Colnar at scolnar@rjuhsd.us. Voicemail is difficult during the school day so you will receive much quicker responses via email. Thanks.
IB stands for International Baccalaureate, which is a worldwide program started in 1968 in Geneva, Switzerland to offer a sophisticated, broad-based curriculum for 11th and 12th grade students.
The goal of the IB Organization is to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring students and teachers who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect. The IB program encourages students across the world to become active, compassionate and lifelong learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right.
